Our Danang & China Beach War History Tour

The Vietnamese have never lost a war ! until the end of the Vietnam - Americian war in 1975 the Vietnamese had been fighting for many years against the French, Japanese, Americians and Chinese !

Tour Desciption

This is a very personal tour. Our Tour Guides are former South Vietnamese Army interpreters who worked for the US Army during the Vietnam - America War.

We are attempting to present war facts without judging who is right or wrong ! The Danang War Museum shows the typical Vietnamese Government and Militaries version of history. We are also providing the "internationally accepted" version.

The area of Da Nang, Hai Van Pass and the start of the Central Highlands (My Son) was a crucial military area for the French and Americans.

The Hai Van Pass located north of Danang is a strategic hilltop vantage point for any military and provides amazing views of Danang and Lanco !

We will see how the bunkers on Hai Van were constructed and positioned so that traffic along the road from both the South and the North could be monitored and controlled.

Traditionally whoever controls the Hai Van Pass controls the country - the Ho Chi Minh trail went through Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and bypassed the need to cross the Hai Van Pass !

Transport by US Military Jeeps

For authentic experience we provide transport in classic US Military Jeeps using during the American - Vietnamese War. (Option is to use a modern car for the same rate).

Itinerary

Depart Guest's hotel in Hoi An or Danang by 9 am
Visit China Beach where the US troops enjoyed rest and recreation (R&R)
Arrive at Danang War Museum 10 am
Depart War Museum 11.30 am for lunch
Arrive Hai Van Pass 1 pm and go inside hilltop bunkers
Depart Hai Van Pass 3 pm, visit Da Nang Port and the US Military R&R area known as "Dog Patch" (famed for drugs, bars, prostitution, etc.)
Return to Guest's hotel in Hoi An or Danang by 5 pm

Personal needs

Bring towel, floppy hat, sun block, anorak and other protection against the elements are recommended. Hai Van Pass will be cooler than Hoi An and warm clothes wll be needed in Winter.
