Hoi An, Vietnam

Undeservedly Hoi An has a reputation for having few activities aside from shopping & restaurants!  we feel a review of what we offer only proves our point that there is a lot to see & do in & around Hoi An!

Central Vietnam was the melting pot of "Indo-China".  From 200 A.D. to 15th Century Hoi An (commercial), My Son (spiritual) & Tra Kieu (political) was the centre of the ancient Champa Kingdom.  From 7th - 10th Centuries Hoi An was the major regional port and the Champas controlled the strategic spice trade between Indonesia, China, India & Persian Gulf states.

UNESCO World Heritage Hoi An Ancient Town is one of Vietnam’s most popular tourist destinations - on the coast of Central Vietnam and where most tourists take a few days break from their Vietnam travel.

UNESCO World Heritage My Son Sanctuary is the site of the most important Champa temple ruins  in Vietnam and is about 40km from Hoi An & another popular tourist destination.  Compared to the similar temples of Ankar Wat the size of My Son is much smaller - My Son was used much longer & its feeling is more intense.  My Son is unlike any other experience in Vietnam.

UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Cu Lao Cham (Cham Islands) are 9 miles offshore and has some of the best beachs & snorkelling in Vietnam.

Further afield UNESCO World Heritage Hue Citadel is the palace grounds of the Capital of Vietnam and includes other monuments & cultural sites.
