Our Marble Mountains & Danang Tour

We tour the Cham Museum in Danang & Marble Mountains on a river adventure taking five hours

 

Tour route

Return passage from Karma Waters Cua Dai, Hoi An to Danang via Marble Mountains. The canal 5 km North of Hoi An on the Thu Bon River connects to Danang – this canal is mostly used by sand barges. In Danang we join the Vu Gia River before stopping close to the Museum of Cham Sculpture.

 

Voyage time

Distance approximately 45 km Hoi An to Danang via inland canal – approximately 90 minutes voyage time each direction by speedboat.

 

Departure time

Tour takes at least 6 hours - latest departure from Cua Dai 9 am for return by 5 pm.

 

Things to see and feel

The journey along the rivers and canal is beautiful and fascinating - few boats or people travel along this route!

First stop is Marble Mountains comprised of five mountains named after basic elements of water, fire, wood, metal and earth. The largest  "Thu Son" (water) has natural caves and is a place of Buddhist pilgrimage.

Second stop is Danang to visit the Museum of Champ Sculpture – Danang's major tourist attraction.  This museum has the finest collection of Cham sculpture in the world.

Vegetarian lunch included at 12 am.

This tour is available all year weather permitting.

Weather conditions

Winter rivers can experience flooding and strong currents. Summer river waters are low and some parts of the river are difficult to navigate.

Rate per passenger for 2011

US$150 per passenger.  Minimum 4 persons.  Rate includes tickets for Marble Mountains & Cham Museum.  Deposit 50% required for reservation.
