Licenses

International driving licenses or those from other countries are NOT accepted licenses in Vietnam - everyone must have a Vietnamese license.  If you have a Vietnamese license we will rent our motorcycles but our cars and boats are driven only by our employees.

In practice the Police are stricter with car & van driving licenses & tend to ignore motorcycle operator licensing laws.  Only if you have an accident or other incident will most tourists find out about Vietnamese law.  If an accident occurs then the person with the most money normally pays irrespective of legal right & wrong.  If in doubt/ worry best to ride a bicycle or take a taxi.
