Karma Waters Cham Islands Homestay

We invite you to experience Vietnam on an authentic level with a Cham Island Homestay on the beautiful Cham Islands in Hoi An, Vietnam.  The area is also home to the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. You will be staying in the private homes of the Bai Huong Tourism Cooperative members and accompanied by an English-speaking local guide.

IntroductionCham Islands Homestay

Karma Waters has partnered with the Bai Huong Tourism Cooperative. We do our best to ensure responsible tourism and share the experience of local life in Vietnam with our guests.  The cooperative strives to assist the local people and their environment.

Cham Island homestays are in private homes in Bai Huong village.  The village is population is 500 persons. It is a close knit, family like community. You can participate in preparing and cooking meals and other local activities.  Some of Vietnam's best beaches are on Cham Islands.

Cham Islands HomestayWe recommend volunteering at least 30 minutes daily to teach/tutor English with the host family. This is easily done via patient casual conversation. You will also learn about Vietnamese culture, community, religion and environment and perhaps learn some Vietnamese.

We hope you are open to experiencing Vietnam on this local level which we believe can best be found by participating in the homestay program.

Best season for Cham Island Homestay

December thru April is the best season to visit Cham Islands and Bai Huong village.    There are few tourists and the area is quiet and relaxed.  During this time passage by boat is difficult due to rough seas, see details on transportation. You will have great opportunities to relax and explore.

May thru August is spring then summer, seas are calmer but tourism is much higher and may impact your experience.  The river/ocean inlet is relatively calm and the weather is normally hot without monsoon rains. This is the ideal season for all types of water sports.
