Things to see and feel

For culture & heritage background see our webpages on Regional History.

Hoi An was one of the first stops for Chinese travellors and refugees and still has a very strong Chinese culture & heritage.  At the fall of the Ming Dynasty entire armies of Chinese troops lived in Hoi An before turning South and starting what became Saigon, the economic driver of Vietnam (then Cambodia).

Hoi An has many interesting Chinese ancestral halls and other cultural sites which are included in this tour.

The ancient architecture of Hoi An is fascinating with its wooden single or multi storey buildings - some of these buildings still remain as museums.  A number of private family homes still remain.

Tour includes a visit to the local market where local produce such as fruit & vegetables are sold.
