To ensure good health we operate a clean & tidy open kitchen.  No smoking inside our buildings!

To meet your taste please request ginger, garlic, onions, chilis, extra salt, etc. Karma Waters serves healthy vegan vegetarian food.  Menu dishes cooked WITH a small quantity of salt  & WITHOUT sugar & MSG.  

Vietnamese tend to like their food with plenty of MSG, salt & sugar!  In Vietnam you may be eating vegetarian food but this DOES NOT mean that what you are eating is healthy!!  Most practicing Vietnamese Buddhists do not eat garlic, onions & ginger.  Sometime during the 4th Century Hinduism & Buddhism came to Vietnam through Hoi An's trade with India - strange there are not more vegetarian restaurants in Hoi An!!

We do NOT serve dairy products (butter, cheese, milk, dairy yogurt), meat, fish or eggs.  It is actually quiet easy (and healthy!) to be a vegan in Vietnam because dairy products are not served in most restaurants serving to Vietnamese tastes.   

Vietnam has one of the best vegetarian cuisines in the world!!  There are vegetarian restaurants in Vietnam catering to a large part of the Buddhist population who are vegetarians for at least four days every lunar month - 1st, 14th & 15th and last day of each lunar month. 

Karma Waters is one of very few vegan vegetarian restaurants in Hoi An - the Owners & daughter are vegans so we serve what we prefer to cook & eat.  We believe that people should have a choice to be and eat what they need - we offer ready-made low cost meals as well as the more expensive Menu dishes.

Serving Vietnamese style:

Start with a drink.  All dishes are served together.  Vietnamese normally eat the last hot dish as soup with rice.  Last served is dessert & Vietnamese tea. If you prefer an alternative serving style please ask!
