Volunteer Programs
Karma Waters works in a mutually beneficial way co-creating sustainable communities!
Karma Waters as a Responsible Tourism business relies upon developing "mutually beneficial" relationships with increasingly sustainable local communities.
Karma Waters in Vietnam is helped in creating sustainable communities. For example thru our working relationship with the Vietnamese Government's Cu Lao Cham Marine Park Administration (CLCMPA) and Netherlands Development Organization SNV. Our work results in poverty reduction, gender equality, education, etc. Together we are ensuring basic needs are available for the community, building processes and tools and some resources for development.
Our ongoing "Sustainable Community Development Program" by working with NGOs & Government ensures that the local community is using the principles of sustainable development in creating "sustainable communities". Tourism is just one income source for the community. The benefits to the communities of our volunteer program is immeasurable.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We do NOT profit from volunteers and we do not markup costs - volunteers pay direct to the source (homeowner, restaurant, etc.) all costs. Our business is community development and NOT placing volunteers (we feel the placement of volunteers at inflated prices for profit is unethical).
